Rockstar has not confirmed crossplay for GTA 6. GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S has never supported cross-platform play between the two consoles, and Rockstar has made no public commitment to change that for GTA VI's online component.

The current GTA Online architecture keeps PlayStation and Xbox players in completely separate matchmaking pools. A character created on PS5 cannot transfer to Xbox Series X|S or vice versa. There is no shared friends list across the platform boundary.
Industry pressure has shifted in the last few years (Fortnite, Call of Duty, Apex Legends all support full crossplay), so it is reasonable to ask whether Rockstar will adopt the same model. But until Rockstar Newswire posts a statement, treat crossplay as not confirmed.
