The Cablecar appears as a non-controllable train designed for use along the Skycar. Two of the cars travel back and forth along the cables across the Humboldt River, stopping at each end. The Cablecar can be boarded and ridden by the player but cannot be controlled, and the player cannot look or move around whilst they are inside. First person view can be accessed via the camera on the protagonists' cell phone. NPCs are not programmed to use the car, and the protagonist cannot grab hold of the car whilst it is in motion.
The Cablecar is shown to have similar traits and behavior with the Subway Car, and thus, the player cannot destroy it or even interfere with its path.
Like GTA IV, the Cable Car appears as a non-controllable train. It is designed for use along the Pala Springs Aerial Tramway, however, in-game, the tramway utilises a prop variant of the cable car, rather than the Cable Car train. The two models are almost identical, with only some minor differences in design.
