The Dashound seemingly takes primary influence from the MCI Renaissance E series bus, with front and rear bumpers and rear fascia taken from the 2001–2006 Blue Bird LTC-40. The characteristic quad-tail light setup is very reminiscent of the 1989–1990 Blue Bird Wanderlodge, albeit circular. Some additional elements may have come from the 1998–2010 Prevost H3-45.
The name (taken from the livery and company branding itself) is likely a parody of Greyhound Lines.
