The SUV was initially referred to solely as the "HHR", a designation derived from the label located in the bottom right corner of the render discovered in Simeon's office at Premium Deluxe Motorsport. While the texture of the render is relatively low in quality and details are difficult to discern, the complete design is illustrated from all perspectives.
The name and texture details of the vehicle were later discovered in the December 2023 GTA V source code leak, officially identifying it as the Matador.
Originally, the Matador was intended to appear as an ambient vehicle in the mission Paparazzo, but it was ultimately substituted with the Rocoto.
