The Metrotrain is an uncontrollable street car featured in GTA V and GTA Online.
The player can access the Metrotrain at any station it stops at in both GTA V and GTA Online. In GTA V, the doors remain closed while the train is moving, after which the player will be forced into a cinematic view, while in GTA Online, the doors are permanently open, allowing the player to access it even if it forced to a stop. The player can also freely walk around the vehicle in GTA Online. Unlike the Cablecar, rides cannot be skipped on the Metrotrain.
Unlike the Tram in GTA San Andreas, the Metrotrain will stop if the player or an NPC blocks it, and will only continue moving once no longer blocked, or if the train driver is threatened with a weapon.
The Metrotrain's HUD name is "Freight Train", but as the player is not able to control the vehicle, this name is never displayed in-game; this also applies to all rolling stock in GTA V, with the exception of the Freight Train itself (which can be controlled during Derailed.)
