The Hermes is a customized late 1940s coupe featured in GTA: Vice City, GTA: San Andreas, GTA: Vice City Stories, and GTA Online. It is manufactured by Albany in the .
The Hermes is based on the 1949-1951 Mercury Eight, with styling cues from the Hudson Hornet, which is evident with the roof and hood shape, but the car has been evidently modified into a lead sled, with a chopped roof and an additional pair of tail lights.
The Hermes returns in Grand Theft Auto Online, this time assuming the design of the 1942 and 1946–1948 Buick Super, while still featuring influences from 1949-1951 Mercury Eight in the overall shape. The front fascia more closely resembles the first-generation Hudson Hornet. A classic bumper similar to the Hornet's can also be bought from Los Santos Customs. The rear lights and trunk bear mild resemblance to the 1948 Cadillac "Cadzilla", while the side window shape and rear, especially with the bumper removed, seems to also loosely resemble the Holden Efijy.
*The "Classic Flames" livery resembles the customized 1951 Mercury Sport Coupe featured in the 1996 movie Escape from L.A. **When matched with the corresponding paint color, the vehicle with this livery can also resemble the Cuban Hermes. *The "Ghost Flames" livery is similar to the one found on the 1950 Mercury Barris Custom by George Barris. *The "Amazing Albany" liveries are a reference to the Fabulous Hudson Hornet stock car. It is a mix of the livery on Herb Thomas' #92 race car, and the one used by from the Cars movie franchise. *The "Saltflat Drag" livery is loosely inspired by Ron Ernsberger's "Fabulous Hudson Hornet" drag car, which appeared at the 2012 World of Speed—an annual racing event held at the Bonneville Speedway on the Bonneville Salt Flats near Wendover, Utah.
