In all titles, the rifle is equipped with both a telescopic sight and a red laser point sight, seen when moving the aiming to a side. The laser point sight will leave a trace of red color.
The .308 Sniper is one of the few weapons that used real-life names in the original releases of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, appearing as the PSG1 (which the real SR9T is derived from) in the day-one v1.40 release for the PlayStation 2. It was renamed .308 Sniper in later releases. Rockstar North remodeled and renamed the weapon in later versions of GTA Vice City, possibly to avoid copyright and trademark infringements.
