The Best Off-Road Vehicles in GTA Online
The best off-road vehicles in GTA Online ranked for dirt, dunes, and rocky trails: the Kamacho, Everon, Caracara, Brawler, and classic dune buggies.

The best off-road vehicles in GTA Online trade flat-out top speed for grip, suspension travel, and the ability to climb Mount Chiliad without losing momentum. If you spend time hauling across the dirt trails of Blaine County, the right off-road car keeps all four wheels planted where a supercar would spin out. Below are the off-road cars worth your money, plus where each one actually shines.
Canis Kamacho: The Best Value Off-Road Truck
The Canis Kamacho is the easiest off-road truck to recommend. It costs $345,000 from Southern San Andreas Super Autos and was added in The Doomsday Heist update, so it has been a staple for years. Fully upgraded, it reaches a tested top speed around 116 mph (per Broughy1322 testing), which is fast for the class, and its raised body shrugs off ruts and rocks that bottom out lower vehicles.
What makes the Kamacho stand out is how well it handles steep climbs and uneven terrain. The wide stance keeps it stable on side-slopes, and it stays controllable at speed where lighter buggies get twitchy. For the price, nothing else covers as much ground as comfortably.
Karin Everon: Big, Bulky, and Built for Wilderness
The Karin Everon is the truck you take when the trail gets nasty. It costs $1,475,000 from Southern San Andreas Super Autos (with a trade price of $1,106,250 unlocked after the Diamond Casino Heist finale), and it arrived with that 2019 update. Its tested top speed sits around 107 mph fully upgraded, so it is not the quickest, but speed is not the point.
The Everon's mass and tall ride height let it power through steep inclines and loose ground that would stop a smaller off-roader. It climbs slopes with a stubborn, planted feel, which makes it ideal for crossing rough country rather than racing across it. Think of it as the heavy-duty option for genuine backcountry driving.
Vapid Caracara: Off-Road With a Gun
The Vapid Caracara is the weaponized pick in this lineup. It costs $1,775,000 from Warstock Cache & Carry, can be fitted with a roof-mounted machine gun or a 7.62mm minigun, and was added in the Southern SA Super Sport Series update. Tested top speed lands around 100-103 mph fully upgraded, and the high-clearance 6x6 body eats rough terrain.
There is also a cheaper, unarmed Caracara 4x4 priced at $875,000 if you want the off-road capability without the weapon. The full Caracara earns its spot because it doubles as a combat truck: you get serious ground clearance plus a mounted gun for free-roam fights and PvP in the badlands.
Coil Brawler: The Fast Off-Roader
If you want speed on dirt, the Coil Brawler is the answer. Sold at Legendary Motorsport for $715,000, this Local Motors Rally Fighter-inspired buggy hits a tested top speed near 119 mph fully upgraded, one of the quickest figures in the off-road class. It was added in the Ill-Gotten Gains Part 2 update.
The Brawler's low, wide rally-car shape gives it strong cornering grip on loose surfaces, so it holds racing lines through dirt corners better than the tall trucks. It is the off-road car to grab when you care about lap times rather than rock-crawling.
Vapid Trophy Truck: Desert Racing Specialist
The Vapid Trophy Truck is purpose-built for high-speed desert running. It costs $550,000 from Southern San Andreas Super Autos and runs a four-wheel-drive layout with long-travel suspension that soaks up jumps and whoops. Tested top speed sits around 106-107 mph fully upgraded.
This is the truck for blasting across open dunes and dry riverbeds at speed, where its suspension keeps the wheels in contact over bumps that would launch other vehicles off-line. It is less a climber and more a flat-out desert sprinter.
Dune Buggies and Lightweight Off-Roaders
The classic dune buggies still have their place, though availability has changed. The BF Bifta (based on the Meyers Manx), the BF Injection, and the BF Dune Buggy were all removed from in-game stores in June 2023, so they can no longer be bought directly, though some can still be found on the street. These lightweight buggies are nimble and fun across sand, with the Bifta in particular posting a respectable tested top speed near 107 mph.
If you already own a Bifta or Dune Buggy from before the removal, they remain great for quick, agile runs across the dunes where their low weight helps them stay light on loose sand. Just know that the heavier trucks above are the more practical long-term buys today.
Which Off-Road Vehicle Should You Buy?
For most players, the Canis Kamacho is the best all-round off-road vehicle in GTA Online: cheap, fast enough, and a strong climber. Pick the Karin Everon for the roughest wilderness terrain, the Coil Brawler for speed on dirt, the Trophy Truck for desert racing, and the Vapid Caracara if you want a gun bolted on top.
