The Comet is a recurring sports car that appears in both the and the . It is manufactured by Pfister in the HD Universe.
The Comet in 3D Universe Grand Theft Auto games is inspired by the Porsche 911, particularly the 911SC Targa from the late '70s to early '80s, with some design cues borrowed from the late '80s 911 models. In the original versions of GTA: Vice City, the Comet has a fastback profile design with connected tail lamps and a curved rear window. However, on the Xbox and mobile versions of GTA: Vice City, as well as all versions of GTA: San Andreas and GTA: Vice City Stories, the Comet features backwards-slanted standalone C-pillars, a small rear window, separated tail lamps, and a central license plate, resembling the rear of the Porsche 914. The headlights may have been influenced by the Nissan Fairlady Z (S130).
Unlike the older 911 models, the Comet has an all-wheel-drive setup, similar to the newer 911 models. In the 3D Universe games, the Comet is front-engined, in contrast to the real rear-engined Porsche 911.
Manufactured by Pfister, the Comet in GTA IV largely resembles a mix of the Porsche 996 Carrera 4S and the Porsche 911 (997). Its headlights and certain additional elements draw similarities to the Porsche 987 Cayman, with the headlamp layout and the front bumper reminiscent of the Porsche Carrera GT. The C-pillar design appears to be a fusion of the Cayman and the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, while the distinct flat-profile rear somewhat mirrors the Aston Martin V12 Vanquish. The placement of the rear intakes may have been influenced by the Porsche 997.1 GT3. Furthermore, the seats of the Comet are based on those found in the Lamborghini Gallardo. The Comet also features a set of concealed door handles, possibly inspired by either the Ferrari F430 or the Nissan 350Z.
Like the real 911, the GTA IV Comet is rear-engined, although it has a V8 engine rather than a flat-6 like most Porsches. Also, this version of the Comet has no license plate.
The Comet in remains similar to the GTA IV iteration, albeit with simpler details and a grey detail between the tail lamps.
In GTA V and GTA Online, the Comet retains the same model as in GTA IV but features an updated design consisting of vented skirts, rear fender ducts, and a standard rear deck spoiler with small scoops, giving it resemblance to the Porsche 997 GT2. It also now features a rear license plate.
