The Fastest Cars in GTA IV, Ranked by Top Speed
The fastest cars in GTA 4, ranked by top speed: Bullet GT, Turismo, Comet, Infernus, Coquette, Banshee, Sultan RS and F620, plus where each one spawns.

The fastest cars in GTA 4 cluster at the very top of Liberty City's speed charts, and the gap between them is tighter than most players expect. Six base-game sports cars (the Turismo, Comet, Infernus, Coquette, Banshee and the slightly slower Sultan RS) all push near the ceiling, while the Episodes from Liberty City expansions add the Bullet GT and F620. This GTA IV car list ranks them by verified top speed and tells you exactly where each one spawns.
The fastest car in GTA 4: the Bullet GT
The single fastest car in GTA 4 is the Bullet GT, a Ford GT-inspired supercar added in The Ballad of Gay Tony. Its top speed is 101.28 mph (163 km/h), the only car in the entire game to break 100 mph. It draws extra styling cues from the Lamborghini Miura and the R34 Nissan Skyline.
You can find the Bullet GT spawning around southern Algonquin and parts of Alderney. The cleanest way to keep one is through Henrique Bardas: after you finish the "No. 3" mission in TBoGT, he can deliver a Bullet GT straight to you. You also get to keep one after winning the "This Ain't Checkers" race. On PC and console you can spawn it with the cheat code 227-555-9666 (more codes live on our GTA IV cheats page).
Banshee, Comet, Coquette, Infernus and Turismo: the 99 mph tier
Here is the part that surprises people. In the base game, the best cars in GTA IV are functionally tied at the top. The Banshee, Comet, Coquette, Infernus and Turismo all hit a top speed of 99 mph (160 km/h). What separates them is acceleration, handling and how often they appear in traffic.
- Banshee (Dodge Viper-inspired): the most common of the group, spawning as regular traffic across Algonquin and the airport.
- Comet (Porsche 996-inspired): rare in traffic, but the standard version is sold by the auto merchant in BOABO, Broker. It is also one of Stevie's requested cars.
- Coquette (Chevrolet Corvette C5-inspired): turns up around the wealthier city neighborhoods.
- Infernus (Lamborghini-inspired, with Pagani Zonda cues): one of the rarest, it reliably spawns once you progress through Stevie's Car Thefts.
- Turismo (Ferrari F430-inspired): eight of them sit at the Grotti dealership in Middle Park East, Algonquin, near Niko's safehouse, making it the easiest 99 mph car to grab on demand.
The Sultan RS: slower on paper, fastest off the line
The Sultan RS tops out at 93.21 mph (150 km/h), which puts it just below the leading pack. Numbers do not tell the whole story here. The Sultan RS has the fastest acceleration of any car in the game, and its all-wheel-drive system (with a rear-biased torque split) gives it the tightest cornering grip of any vehicle on this list. It is based on the first-gen Lexus IS and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution V and VI.
There is one fixed Sultan RS spawn worth memorizing: a single example sits in the bushes behind a run-down mansion in Westdyke, Alderney, at the end of a dirt road near the northernmost point of the island. After you finish all of Stevie's car requests, you can also sell a stolen Sultan RS to his garage. The Sultan RS appears in GTA IV and both episodes.
The F620 and Super GT: the episode and base-game runners-up
Two more cars round out the fast end of the GTA 4 car list:
- F620: a Ballad of Gay Tony sports car based on the Maserati GranTurismo, with a top speed of 96.31 mph (155 km/h). A bright red one spawns in front of Maisonette 9 during Daisie's random encounter, and Henrique can deliver one after "No. 3" alongside the Bullet GT.
- Super GT: a base-game Aston Martin-styled coupe that tops out at 96.31 mph (155 km/h), the same figure as the F620, frequently found parked near the Bank of Liberty in The Exchange, Algonquin.
Both are quick and good-looking, but neither matches the outright pace of the 99 mph group.
Top-speed ranking at a glance
Here is the full ranking of the fastest cars in GTA IV, top speed first:

- Banshee (GTA IV): 99 mph / 160 km/h
- Comet (GTA IV): 99 mph / 160 km/h
- Coquette (GTA IV): 99 mph / 160 km/h
- Infernus (GTA IV): 99 mph / 160 km/h
- Turismo (GTA IV): 99 mph / 160 km/h
- F620 (TBoGT): 96.31 mph / 155 km/h

Which fast car should you actually drive?
For pure straight-line speed, the Bullet GT wins outright, so an Episodes save is the move if you want the genuine fastest car in GTA 4. If you are playing the base game, the Turismo is the most practical pick because the Grotti dealership guarantees a fresh one every time. For twisting Liberty City streets and quick getaways, the Sultan RS beats every supercar here thanks to its acceleration and all-wheel grip.
