GTA 4 Girlfriends and Dating: Every Date and Reward
GTA 4 girlfriends explained: how GTA IV dating and the relationship meter work, plus the Carmen, Kiki and Alex perks and where to take each date.

The GTA 4 girlfriends system gives Niko Bellic five women to date across Liberty City, and three of them hand you genuinely useful perks once you put in the work. GTA IV dating runs on a hidden relationship percentage that rises and falls based on where you take each woman and how you present yourself. This guide covers all five girlfriends, how the meter works, and the exact Carmen, Kiki and Alex perks worth chasing.
How GTA IV dating and the relationship meter work
Every girlfriend has a hidden "like" percentage that climbs after a good date and drops if you neglect her. A date succeeds when you cater to three tastes: your clothing, your vehicle, and how fancy the outing is. Match all three and the meter jumps; show up in the wrong gear or a beater car and it barely moves.
The thresholds that matter:
- 60% like is the floor. If you don't reach roughly 60% by the end of the first date, she won't give you her number, and if an existing girlfriend's like drops below 60%, she calls to break things off.
- Sleeping with an internet girlfriend is where it pays off. Once you've taken her in for coffee, she phones Niko to offer her special ability, the perk you call in from the cellphone afterward. You can keep using that perk as long as her like stays above 60%; let it slip below that and the perk goes dark until you win her back.
A strong date ends with an invite inside for "coffee," the game's running euphemism, and that bump pushes the meter up fast. You can check progress under the relationship stats; the percentage sits in the stats menu rather than on the HUD.
Michelle and Kate: the two story girlfriends
These two are scripted into the campaign, so there's no website needed.
Michelle is the first girlfriend, unlocked after the Roman mission "Three's a Crowd." She's an easy early tutorial for the dating system: she likes modest clothes from the Russian shop, dislikes strip clubs, and keeps daytime hours (roughly 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.). She is not a long-term option, though. During Elizabeta's storyline she's revealed to be a government agent, and after "The Snow Storm" she's gone for good. Enjoy her as practice, not a perk source.
Kate McReary, sister of Packie, unlocks after "Waste Not Want Knots." She's the straight arrow of the McReary clan, and her standards reflect it: she likes Modo clothing, an SUV or a clean sports car, and wholesome outings like bowling, pool, diners and bars. Kate is the one girlfriend who never invites Niko in for coffee no matter how well the date goes. Her arc ties into the late-game story choice, so treat her as a character moment rather than a reward.
The Carmen, Kiki and Alex perks (internet dating)
The three perks worth grinding come from internet dates, unlocked after Brucie's mission "Out of the Closet," which opens up the in-game sites love-meet.net and craplist.net. Browse the profiles at any TW@ internet cafe, send a message, and wait roughly 12 to 24 in-game hours for a reply before the first date is set.
Carmen Ortiz dates under the handle SoBoHoe on love-meet.net. She likes Modo and Perseus outfits, muscle cars or pickups, and lively spots: the Split Sides comedy club, the Perestroika cabaret, bars and strip clubs. Her hours run roughly 1 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Carmen's perk: call her for medical advice and a quick health boost, topping Niko back up mid-chaos. It's the perk most worth keeping active before a tough shootout.
Kiki Jenkins dates as LawChick on love-meet.net. She's a lawyer with plain tastes: Russian-shop clothing, a cheap civilian car, and she dislikes strip clubs, so keep the date grounded. Her window is roughly 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Kiki's perk: call her to wipe your wanted level (she clears up to three stars off your head). It's a free cooldown on the cops, but it only works once per in-game day, so don't burn it on a one-star nuisance.
One warning on Kiki: she gets jealous. Date other women while seeing her and she'll stalk Niko, so keep her happy or keep her separate.
Alexandra "Alex" Chilton is on craplist.net under Liberated Woman in the women-seeking-men section. She grew up wealthy and it shows: she wants Perseus clothing and a proper sports car, and she favors upscale outings like shows, pool halls, darts bars and bowling. She even blogs your dates on blogsnobs.org, calling Niko "the Mysterious European." Her hours run roughly 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Alex's perk: call her to arrange a 50% discount on all clothing stores across Liberty City for the next 24 in-game hours. Stack a big wardrobe haul into that window and it pays for itself.
Date-spot tips to raise the meter fast
A few habits keep every relationship climbing without wasted trips:
- Dress and drive to her taste before you pick her up. Wrong-shop clothes or a junk car can sink an otherwise perfect outing. If you need a wardrobe refresh, our GTA IV cheats page and the GTA IV game hub point you to the shops and spawn codes worth keeping handy.
- Don't repeat the same venue. A girlfriend's opinion of a specific spot drops a little each visit, and once it falls too low she'll refuse to go there. Rotate between her two or three favorite activity types.
- Match the fanciness to the woman. Carmen and Alex enjoy nightlife and shows; Kiki and Kate prefer low-key bowling, pool and diners.
- Mind the hours. Each girlfriend answers only inside her active window, and there's a short cooldown (about five in-game hours) before you can call her again.
- Bank the coffee invite. End on a successful, taste-matched date and the coffee bump is what unlocks the perk in the first place, so it's the moment worth chasing.
Once you've unlocked the perks from Carmen, Kiki and Alex, you're carrying a pocket medic, a get-out-of-jail card, and a half-price wardrobe, three of the most practical favors in Liberty City.
