The next chapter — Vice City and Leonida. Launches November 19, 2026.
Rockstar Games has been deliberate about which Leonida residents get named. Lucia and Jason are the dual protagonists, and the Trailer 2 rollout in May 2025 added six supporting characters, each with a short bio on Rockstar's official GTA VI site. The notes below stick to what those bios say. Rockstar has not named any returning character from earlier games; anything else you see described as confirmed is not from Rockstar.
One of the two playable leads. Rockstar's bio opens with "Lucia's father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk. Life has been coming at her swinging ever since." She is introduced fresh out of prison and looking for a new start with Jason. Widely described as the first female lead of a mainline GTA campaign, a milestone Rockstar itself has not claimed. Shown in Trailer 1, named with Trailer 2, and playable in the Extended Look's dual-control system.

The other playable lead. Per Rockstar's bio, "Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder": he grew up around grifters and crooks, did a stint in the military, and now runs product for Brian Heder in the Leonida Keys while living rent-free on one of Brian's properties. The Extended Look showed him and Lucia switching instantly when together and fighting side by side.

Jason's friend and a fellow associate of Brian Heder's. Rockstar frames him with "What if everything on the internet was true?" and says he "feels safest hanging at home, snooping on Coast Guard comms with a few beers and some private browser tabs open". A conspiracy-minded homebody, not a broker or a shop owner; nothing in Rockstar's text places him anywhere but home.

"Boobie is a local Vice City legend, and acts like it." Rockstar's bio describes one of the few to turn his time in the streets into a legitimate empire spanning real estate, the Jack of Hearts strip club and a recording studio. He has partnered with Dre'Quan Priest on Only Raw Records, and his Trailer 2 line about club money paying for the studio is the clearest statement of how the label is funded.

"A classic drug runner from the golden age of smuggling in the Keys", per Rockstar, who still moves product through his boat yard with his third wife, Lori, and has been around long enough to let others do his dirty work. He lets Jason live rent-free at one of his properties in exchange for help with local shakedowns. A Keys smuggler with a marina, not a wetlands operator.

"Experience counts." Rockstar's bio gives Raul confidence, charm and cunning: a "seasoned bank robber always on the hunt for talent ready to take the risks that bring the biggest rewards", whose recklessness "raises the stakes with every score". That is the whole official text; no background, no role as a planner. He appears in the Extended Look's robbery sequences.

"Dre'Quan was always more of a hustler than a gangster. Even when he was dealing on the streets to make ends meet, breaking into music was the goal." Rockstar's bio has him booking acts into Boobie Ike's strip club on the way to running Only Raw Records with Boobie's backing, and signing the Real Dimez as the label's breakout act.

"Viral videos. Viral hooks." Bae-Luxe and Roxy, friends since high school per Rockstar's bio, are the Vice City rap duo signed to Only Raw Records. Their rise plays out on the in-game social feeds shown in the Extended Look, and an early single with local rapper DWNPLY is part of their official backstory.
