The Schafter appears to be heavily based on the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (W220), specifically the S 600 model for its long wheelbase and V12 engine, with headlights resembling that of the 2005 Ssangyong Chairman H and a rear fascia derived from the Mercedes-Benz CL-Class (C215). The chrome trim along the bottom of the trunk resembles the reflector panel of the Mercedes-Benz W140.
