The Kruger is an assault rifle featured in . It was also meant to appear in , but was cut from the game.
The weapon is based on the , the folding stock version of the Mini-14 rifle. Despite this, it is depicted as fully-automatic like the variant. The gun comes in a grey finish and replaces the AK47 from other titles.
It is one of the few weapons that used real-life names in the original releases of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, appearing as the Ruger in the day-one v1.40 release for the PlayStation 2. It was renamed Kruger in later releases. Rockstar North remodeled and renamed the weapon in later versions of GTA Vice City, possibly to avoid copyright and trademark infringements.
The Kruger was going to be included in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories but was removed for unknown reasons. The HUD icon and textures for the weapon can still be found in the game files. The weapon's texture reuses the original PlayStation 2 model's texture from GTA Vice City, albeit slightly darker. However, the model, only found in the mobile version files, uses the updated Kruger model from later versions of GTA Vice City, although using the original Ruger textures.
