GTA Online Counterfeit Cash Factory Guide: Setup, Sales, Profit
GTA Online counterfeit cash factory guide: setup costs, supplies, production, sell routes, upgrade priorities, and whether the MC business is worth running.

The GTA Online counterfeit cash factory is one of the oldest passive MC businesses in the game, and it still quietly prints money for players who keep it stocked. It runs in the background while you do other jobs, then pays out in a single sell mission. This guide covers the setup costs, supplies, production rate, sell routes, and an honest take on whether the counterfeit cash factory is worth running in 2026.
How the counterfeit cash MC business works
The counterfeit cash factory is a biker business, so before you can buy one you need a Clubhouse and you have to register as an MC President through the interaction menu. From there, open the laptop in your Clubhouse, go to The Open Road website, choose Buy Business, and select Counterfeit Cash.
Once you own it, the factory turns supplies into product over time. You feed it supplies, it produces fake banknotes, and you sell the finished stock for a profit. Production runs as long as you are in a GTA Online session and the factory has supplies in stock. You do not have to stay registered as an MC President for it to produce, but the business only makes product while you are actually in a session, so it sits idle once you log off.
Counterfeit cash factory locations and prices
There are four counterfeit cash factory locations. The interiors are identical, so the only real difference is the price and where it sits on the map.
- Grand Senora Desert: $845,000
- Paleto Bay: $951,600
- Cypress Flats: $1,267,500
- Vespucci Canals: $1,605,500
Grand Senora Desert is the standard pick. It is the cheapest option and it sits centrally, close to other businesses like the Cocaine Lockup or Meth Lab, which keeps resupply and sell runs short. If you want a base inside the city, Cypress Flats is the closest to downtown Los Santos. You can browse the rest of the property catalog through the GTA Online hub.
Upgrades you should buy
Upgrades are where the counterfeit cash factory goes from mediocre to genuinely worthwhile. There are three:
- Equipment Upgrade: $880,000. Speeds up production, raises product value, and makes supplies last longer.
- Staff Upgrade: $273,000. Speeds up production and raises product value.
- Security Upgrade: $456,000. Lowers the chance of raids on your stock.
The Equipment and Staff upgrades are the priority. Together they cut production time roughly from 12 minutes per unit down to 8 minutes per unit and push the sale value up significantly. The Security upgrade is optional and mostly matters if you let stock pile up for long stretches in public lobbies where raids can happen.
Supplies and production
Supplies are the input that keeps the presses running. You can buy supplies for $15,000 per unit, up to a maximum of $75,000 for a full restock, or run supply steal missions to get them free at the cost of your time.
The factory holds a maximum of 40 units of product. At base speed that is roughly 12 minutes per unit, and with the Equipment and Staff upgrades it drops to about 8 minutes per unit. Buying supplies is the efficient move for most players: $75,000 of supplies converts into a full stock worth far more than that, and your time is usually better spent on heists or other businesses than on supply runs.
Sell routes and payouts
You sell from the laptop or the factory itself once you have stock built up. Selling closer to home (a local sale) pays less but is faster and safer. Selling remote (the far variant) pays more but sends you across the map in vehicles you have to protect.
Here is what a full stock pays:
- Without upgrades: about $140,000 local, $210,000 remote
- With Equipment and Staff upgrades: about $196,000 local, $294,000 remote
Sell missions use delivery vehicles you have to drive to drop-off points. Larger stockpiles spawn more vehicles, so selling a full 40-unit bar solo can be a slog. Many players sell at around half capacity to keep deliveries manageable. Selling in an invite-only or solo session removes the risk of other players blowing up your product, which Rockstar still permits for these businesses.

The Hands On Car Wash bonus
The biggest reason the counterfeit cash factory is relevant again is the Hands On Car Wash, added with the Money Fronts update. Owning it boosts the sale value of your counterfeit cash product by 35% during biker sell missions. That stacks on top of your upgrades, so a fully upgraded remote sale jumps well past its base value. If you plan to lean on biker businesses, the car wash pays for itself quickly.
Is the counterfeit cash factory worth it in 2026?
It depends on how you play. As a standalone money-maker, the counterfeit cash factory is middling: even fully upgraded and selling remote, its hourly rate trails modern earners like the Acid Lab, Agency contracts, or a Cayo Perico run. The three upgrades alone run about $1.6 million on top of the building price, which is steep for the return.
Where it shines is as background income. You stock it once, go do something more profitable, and come back to a full bar of product to sell. Bundled with the rest of your biker empire and the Hands On Car Wash multiplier, it becomes a solid layer of passive cash rather than your main job. If you are a newer player with limited funds, skip it until you have a faster primary earner, then circle back. If you already run a biker setup, the counterfeit cash factory is a reasonable add-on, not a must-buy. You can compare it against other businesses from the GTA Online screenshots and property pages.
