Vice City Hunter Location and the Rarest Vehicles Guide

The Vice City Hunter location is the single most-asked rare-vehicle question in the game, and the answer ties directly into Vice City's collectible and mission systems. This guide covers where to find the Hunter attack helicopter, the Sea Sparrow, the Rhino tank, and the unique cars locked behind Sunshine Autos. Every unlock condition below is the in-game requirement, so you know exactly what to do before the vehicle appears.

Vice City Hunter location: Fort Baxter Air Base

The Hunter is the crown jewel of Vice City's vehicle list: a military attack helicopter armed with a minigun and rockets. It spawns at Fort Baxter Air Base, the guarded military base on the northern part of the eastern island, near Escobar International Airport.

There are two ways to unlock it:

• Collect all 100 hidden packages. Once the final package is in, the Hunter spawns at Fort Baxter Air Base.
• Complete the story. Finishing the final mission, Keep Your Friends Close..., also makes the Hunter spawn at the base.

After you finish the game and collect all 100 packages, a Hunter also appears on a helipad in south Ocean Beach, next to Lance Vance's house, which is far easier to reach than the heavily guarded base. Fort Baxter itself is fenced and patrolled, so a clean grab usually means flying in with a Maverick, landing beside the Hunter, and switching aircraft fast. Wearing the cop outfit also lets you move around the base more freely.

Sea Sparrow Vice City unlock: 80 hidden packages

The Sea Sparrow is the rare-vehicle hunter's reward for serious collecting. It is a small armed helicopter fitted with a minigun, and it can set down on water, which makes it one of the most versatile vehicles in the game.

To get the Sea Sparrow in Vice City, collect 80 hidden packages. Once that threshold is reached, the Sea Sparrow appears at the rear of the Vercetti Estate on Starfish Island, right behind Tommy's mansion. It sits there permanently from then on, so it doubles as a reliable air taxi for the back half of the game. If you are tracking your package run, the Sea Sparrow at 80 is your sign that you are 20 packages away from the Hunter.

The Rhino tank: 90 hidden packages or a 6-star manhunt

The Rhino is Vice City's tank, cannon turret and all, and there are two clean ways to park one.

• Collect 90 hidden packages. At 90, the Rhino spawns inside Fort Baxter Air Base, alongside the same area you will later grab the Hunter.
• Provoke the military. Vice City's wanted meter tops out at 6 stars, a level that only unlocks after you take the Vercetti Estate in the mission Rub Out. At 6 stars the army rolls in with Rhinos, and you can blast or yank the driver out and claim the tank yourself.

Sunshine Autos: the Deluxo, Sabre Turbo and other unique cars

The rarest cars in Vice City are not found on the street at all. They are rewards from the Sunshine Autos Import Garage, the showroom property in Little Havana that runs four car-collection lists. Deliver every vehicle on a list and a unique car spawns inside the showroom. Completing all four lists also turns Sunshine Autos into a money property generating up to $9,000 a day.

Here is what each list pays out:

• List 1: the Deluxo. A DeLorean-style coupe and one of the most sought-after rides in the game. It spawns inside Sunshine Autos after you finish the first list, and the garage version is the only guaranteed one you will see.
• List 2: the Sabre Turbo. A souped-up muscle car, rarer and faster than the standard Sabre, parked next to the Deluxo on completion of the second list.
• List 3: the Sandking. A monster-truck-style 4x4 reward for clearing the third list.
• List 4: the Hotring Racer. The NASCAR-style stock car drops after the fourth and final list.

The Deluxo and the Sabre Turbo are the two showcase unique cars here, and both are far easier to keep than to find by luck, since they respawn inside your own showroom.

Finding a Cheetah: the unique-feel sports car

The Cheetah is not an unlock reward, but it is one of the most prized fast cars in Vice City and it has dependable spawn spots, so you never have to gamble on a random street appearance.

Look for a parked Cheetah at these reliable locations:

• Starfish Island, parked near the mansions close to the Vercetti Estate.
• The Ocean Beach marina area on Ocean Drive.

The Cheetah is also one of the vehicles requested on the Sunshine Autos third list, so grabbing one early helps your import garage progress and your garage at home at the same time. Pair it with the Infernus for the two fastest road cars in the game.
