The Landstalker has many different designs between Grand Theft Auto III and GTA: Vice City Stories, usually combined from a variety of sources.
*In Grand Theft Auto III, the Landstalker resembles a slightly altered first-generation Land Rover Freelander, the facelifted Nissan Terrano II, and the first-generation Ford Escape. It spawns in a variety of colors, with the lower sides in a gray color. *In GTA: Liberty City Stories, the Landstalker is based on a first-generation Lincoln Navigator. Some models may also come with a roof rack and boxes in the rear compartment with the ZIP label on them. Its color distribution is the same. *In GTA: Vice City and GTA: Vice City Stories, the Landstalker resembles a 1984–1990 Jeep Wagoneer Limited, with the front fascia and taillights of the 1983–1994 Chevrolet S-10 Blazer. Landstalkers feature a wood texture along the body, a feature that the Wagoneer was known for. In the iOS and enhanced versions of GTA Vice City, the Landstalker has the same "4X4 POWER" rear wheel cover that the GTA Vice City Stories rendition has, compared to the blank one seen in the original version. This version always spawns with brown/wooden strips on the sides. *In GTA: San Andreas, the Landstalker generally resembles the GTA Vice City and GTA Vice City Stories renditions, but with a few changes that make its design more upscale, with the vertical grille strips and taillight design evoking the feel of a Range Rover Classic and the chrome trim evoking the original Jeep Wagoneer. It no longer carries a rear-mounted spare wheel; instead, a wheel is visible inside the rear compartment. It still carries the brown/wooden strips.
The HD Universe rendition of the Landstalker resembles both the second-generation Lincoln Navigator (U228), as seen in the front fascia and overall appearance, and the third-generation Lincoln Navigator L (U418), as evidenced by its extended wheelbase, chrome trim along the lower edge of the doors and window frames, lettering along the front doors, and large roof rails. Several details are taken from the 2006–2009 Range Rover Sport (L320), including the headlights, tail lights, upper front bumper vent, tailgate, and blacked-out pillars. The side and rear profiles are somewhat similar to the Land Rover Freelander 2 (L359). The grille, albeit smaller in size, bonnet, side-steps, and front bumper strongly resemble those of the 2007–2014 Ford Expedition (U324), while the rear bumper seems to be taken from the first-generation Ford Escape.
