GTA 5 Blitz Play: All Four Gold Medal Objectives, and the Switching Trick People Forget
Blitz Play hands you all three protagonists and an armored van, and its Gold Medal is lost by most players on one silly objective: switching characters ten times. Here is every requirement and how to clear them without replaying the mission five times.

Blitz Play is the mission where GTA 5's three-protagonist gimmick finally clicks. Michael, Trevor and Franklin hit an armored security van together, and for the first time you are actively juggling all three in a firefight. It is also a Gold Medal that a lot of players miss for a reason that has nothing to do with skill.
The four Gold Medal objectives
Blitz Play asks for four things:
- Hawk Down. Shoot down the helicopter.
- Headshots. Kill 12 enemies with headshots.
- Accuracy. Finish with at least 60% shooting accuracy.
- Switcher. Switch character 10 times.
Start with the one people fail
Switcher is the trap. Nothing in the mission prompts you to switch ten times, the firefight is perfectly winnable from a single character, and there is no on-screen counter telling you where you are. Players finish with three headshots to spare, a clean 70% accuracy, and no medal.
Fix it by making switching a habit from the first shot. Cycle Michael to Franklin to Trevor and back whenever you have a spare second of cover. Ten is more than it sounds like in the moment, so over-switch rather than counting precisely.
Hawk Down is easier than the name suggests
The objective is written as though Trevor has to be the one to bring the helicopter down, and that framing trips people up. In practice any character can shoot it down, so take the shot with whoever has the better angle when the chopper commits. Do not waste half a magazine repositioning to Trevor for a requirement that does not actually care.
Headshots and accuracy work against each other
These two objectives pull in opposite directions. Chasing 12 headshots means lots of missed shots at moving targets, which tanks the accuracy you need to keep above 60%.
The way through is Michael's special ability. Trigger the slow-motion bar and take deliberate headshots while it is active, then take body shots when it is empty. A landed body shot protects your accuracy, and a missed headshot damages it twice over. Bank the headshots when the ability is up, play it safe when it is not.
You do not need it all in one run
This is the part that saves everyone a bad evening: Gold Medal requirements accumulate across replays. You can clear Hawk Down and Switcher on one attempt, then replay through Mission Replay and focus purely on headshots and accuracy on the next. The game remembers the objectives you have already satisfied.
So if you are two headshots short, do not restart in frustration. Finish the mission, then replay it hunting only the objective you missed.
The bottom line
Blitz Play's Gold Medal is not hard, it is just easy to forget. Switch constantly, drop the chopper with whoever is looking at it, use Michael's ability to bank headshots and body shots to protect accuracy, and lean on replays to mop up whatever you missed.
