GTA 6 Editions Explained: Standard, Ultimate, and No Collector's Edition

GTA 6 editions are confirmed. Rockstar announced a $79.99 Standard Edition and a $99.99 digital-only Ultimate Edition on June 24, 2026, the day before pre-orders opened. There is no Special, Deluxe or Collector's Edition, a leaner lineup than the tiers Rockstar used for Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. When this page was first published in early June, none of that had been revealed. Rockstar's edition history is still below, as a comparison rather than a forecast.

What's confirmed about GTA 6

The hard facts come from Rockstar's Newswire, the trailers and the Extended Look, and Take-Two:

• Release date: November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
• Dual protagonists Jason and Lucia, set in the state of Leonida (a Florida analogue including Vice City).
• Price: $79.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate, confirmed June 24, 2026.
• Pre-orders open since June 25, 2026 on the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and at select retailers.
• Pre-load begins November 12, 2026 for digital pre-orders. Rockstar gave a date, not a clock time.

A PC version has not been announced by Rockstar. Based on the studio's history (GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 both reached PC many months after their console launches), a later PC release is widely expected, but Rockstar has announced no PC version, window, or details. The two GTA 6 editions

• Standard Edition, $79.99: the full game. This is the only edition sold in a box, and the box holds a download code, not a disc.
• Ultimate Edition, $99.99: the full game plus what Rockstar describes as an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons and apparel, with bonus content woven through Jason and Lucia's story rather than a separate mode. Digital only.

Both editions carry the same pre-order bonus. The Vintage Vice City Pack comes with every pre-order and every digital purchase made before November 20, 2026 (physical pre-orders while stocks last): a classic '55 Vapid Stanier, the Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach, retro outfits and hairstyles for both leads, and a weapon pattern. Digital pre-orders also get a free month of GTA+, per the Take-Two press release.

Neither edition offers early access. Asked on the August 7, 2026 earnings call, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said Rockstar could have made "any number of other pricing choices" but chose to deliver value rather than charge for it. How that compares with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2

Grand Theft Auto V (2013) shipped with:

• Standard Edition at $59.99: the full game.
• Special Edition at $79.99: a collectible steelbook, a printed blueprint map of Los Santos and Blaine County, and in-game extras (a special-ability boost, stunt plane trials, bonus outfits, extra weapons).
• Collector's Edition at $149.99: everything in the Special Edition plus a logo cap, a security deposit bag with a logo key, and exclusive in-game vehicles.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (2018) used four tiers:

• Standard Edition at $59.99.
• Special Edition at $79.99: story-mode content (a bank robbery mission, a gang hideout), a physical world map, and in-game boosts.
• Ultimate Edition at $99.99: the Special Edition content plus bonus outfits, a horse, and online rank bonuses.
• Collector's Box at $99.99: physical merch only (no game), packed in a lockable tithing box with a challenge coin, a bandana, a puzzle, and playing cards.

The actual GTA 6 lineup is simpler: a $79.99 Standard tier and a $99.99 Ultimate tier with premium vehicles, weapons and apparel, and no Collector's tier at all.

Is there a GTA 6 Collector's Edition?

No. Rockstar has announced two editions and nothing else. The only physical product is the boxed Standard Edition, and that box contains a code. Past Rockstar boxes bundled steelbooks, printed maps, caps and coins; nothing like that has been announced for GTA 6, and any Collector's Edition item list circulating online is a fan prediction, not a Rockstar reveal. A disc edition has not been announced either.

Pricing (confirmed)

Rockstar confirmed the GTA 6 prices on June 24, 2026: $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition, $10 above the $69.99 that had become the current-generation baseline. There is no Collector's tier, so nothing sits above $99.99. On the split between the two, Zelnick told CNBC's Squawk Box on August 10 that pre-orders are "skewing more to the premium edition", with the caveat that the most avid fans are the ones pre-ordering first; Take-Two has not disclosed a unit count. When the editions were revealed

Edition tiers and prices landed with pre-orders, as they did for GTA V and RDR2: Rockstar revealed the cover art and pre-order date on June 18, 2026, the editions and prices on June 24, and opened pre-orders on June 25. Anything describing additional tiers or a Collector's Edition as final is unverified. Keep an eye on the GTA 6 hub for confirmed updates.
