GTA 6 Collector's Edition: Every Item in the $399.99 Vice City Collection, and the Catch

GTA 6 finally has a collector's edition, and it is not what most people expected. On September 24 Rockstar put Grand Theft Auto VI: The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection up for pre-order: an 11-item Collector's Box for $399.99, built around a cartoon alligator from an in-game TV show, shipping on November 19 alongside the game. What it does not contain is the game. No disc, no download code, nothing to play.

Rockstar's announcement calls it "a premium Grand Theft Auto VI collectible set featuring all the essentials for a good time, inspired by Leonida's hit TV show, Macca the Gator." The Rockstar Store listing goes further, with a photo of every item and a spec sheet for each one, down to the width of the sunglasses bridge. We went through all of it. Here is exactly what is in the box, what it costs, where it ships, and how it stacks up against the GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 boxes.

Every item in the GTA 6 Vice City Collection

The Newswire post lists 11 items. The store page adds a product photo, a description and a materials and measurements sheet for each one. All specs below are Rockstar's.

1. Macca the Gator figure (6 inches, with a stash compartment)

The centrepiece. Rockstar's description: "Stash your valuables in the twist-open base of this figurine of Macca enjoying a smoke and a flamingo blood martini." Macca is pink, wears sunglasses and an open Hawaiian shirt, and holds a martini with a paper umbrella in one hand and a smoke in the other. The base reads "Vice City Leonida."

• Size: approximately 118 x 128 x 161 mm (about 6.3 inches tall)

2. Oakley Frogskins sunglasses

This is the item with the most obvious retail value: real Oakley Frogskins in matte black, with Prizm Sapphire lenses and "a Vice City pink GTAVI logo." Rockstar lists Oakley's own materials, O-Matter frames, Plutonite lenses and Unobtainium nose pads, and says to clean them with "your official Oakley microfiber bag," so a microfiber bag appears to come with them.

3. New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback

A New Era 9FORTY A-Frame snapback "with Vice City Leonida embellishments, embroidery, and appliques." In the photo it is a trucker-style cap with a mesh back, a Macca patch and Vice City logo on the front, and a sun-in-sunglasses and seaplane on the pink peak.

• Material: 100% polyester, decoration in PVC and 3D embroidery
• Fit: one size, roughly 55.8 to 60.6 cm head circumference (fitted sizes 7 to 7 5/8)
• Care: spot clean only, do not machine wash

4. Leonida Keys crossbody bag

"Stow all your essentials in a ripstop crossbody bag with patterned black and pink lining, woven patches, and a custom debossed YKK zipper pull." The patches in the photo are a seaplane, Macca, the Vice City logo and the sun.

• Material: ripstop outer, recycled polyester lining
• Size: 14 x 5.6 x 3.9 inches

5. Macca the Gator magnetic mirror

"Reflect on your life choices in this electroplated pink glass mirror. Use as a tray or hang as artwork with two large rear-mounted magnets." A mirror you are invited to use as a tray, in a box with a razor blade keychain and a stash bag, is about as subtle as Vice City ever gets.

6. Chunkee the Manatee shot glass

"Knock one back with this shot glass featuring Chunkee the Manatee on the front and a laser-etched Rockstar Games logo on the bottom." Chunkee is the collection's second mascot: a purple manatee in a blue fedora with a cigar, a "mom" heart tattoo and his own name inked on his belly.

7. Vice City swizzle spoon

"Stir things up with a decorative spoon featuring a debossed enamel Vice City logo and a Rockstar Games logo tip." Despite being a spoon, the spec sheet is clear that it is "decorative only. Not for food contact."

8. Vice City razor blade keychain

"Stay sharp with a metallic razor-blade-style keychain featuring embossed GTAVI and Vice City logos." It is silver-plated zinc with blunted edges, so it is shaped like a razor blade without being one.

9. Leonida Keys enamel pin set in a metal tin

Nine enamel pins in a custom tin with the poster art on the lid. From the photo: Macca, Chunkee, the flamingo, the sun, the seaplane, the purple lowrider, the Vice City logo, the VI logo and a Rockstar logo.

10. Leonida Keys sticker pack in a stash bag

"Nine crack-and-peel vinyl stickers in a stash bag." The bag is Mylar, 12.6 x 16.2 cm, and the stickers run from 117.5 x 61.5 mm up to 126 x 185 mm.

11. Double-sided souvenir poster with the map of Leonida

This might be the most interesting item in the box for fans of the game rather than fans of merch. The front is a comic-style Vice City panel poster featuring "characters from the hit Leonida TV show Macca the Gator." The back, in Rockstar's words, lets you "plan a road trip to every corner of the Goodtime State with a full view of the Leonida map."

Rockstar has never published a full map of Leonida. The poster's map is an illustrated souvenir map rather than the in-game map, and the store photo only shows a sliver of it (a chain of orange islands that reads as the Keys, next to a giant "Leonida" wordmark), but it is the first time Rockstar has promised a complete view of the state in any form. Price, and how to buy it

The Vice City Collection costs $399.99 in the US and £349.99 in the UK, per GamingBible and gHacks. It is sold only through the Rockstar Store, and the store's FAQ sets three rules:

1. One per person. "Limited to 1 purchase per person."
2. You have to log in. "Purchase requires log-in to the Rockstar Store," so you need a Rockstar Games account.
3. Adults only. The safety note reads: "Adult collectibles. Not a toy. Ages 18+."

It is a pre-order. The store says it is "available to ship from November 19, 2026," with a shipping confirmation email and a tracking link when it goes out ("each box will have its own unique tracking number"). Delivery time depends on the shipping option you pick at checkout.

To cancel, the store sends you to its fulfilment partner rather than Rockstar: you contact Xsolla through its physical pre-order cancellation form, with your order number and the email you ordered from.

Which countries it ships to

The store FAQ lists 23 countries:

Outside the US and UK, "additional duties and taxes may be imposed by local authorities." Everyone else has to wait: Rockstar's post says to "stay tuned for details on how to pre-order The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection across Asia, Latin America, and Australia."

The catch: GTA 6 is not in the box

Rockstar is upfront about it, in the announcement and on the store: "Grand Theft Auto VI game sold separately." The box is merchandise only. If you want to play, you still need the game itself, which is $79.99 for the standard edition or $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Box plus standard edition comes to $479.98; box plus Ultimate Edition is $499.98.

That has not gone down well. GamingBible collected the replies under Rockstar's post, which ranged from "$400 for an ugly statue and some cheap hats and a shot glass and no game" to a pointed comparison with Cyberpunk 2077, whose collector's edition came with the game. There were fans, too: one reply GamingBible quoted was simply "LETS GOOO W."

It also lands in an odd spot given how GTA 6 is being sold physically. The boxed game contains a download code rather than a disc, so the only physical GTA 6 objects you can buy so far are this box and the album on vinyl and CD.

How it compares with Rockstar's other collector's boxes

Rockstar has done a no-game collector's box before. The Red Dead Redemption 2 Collector's Box in 2018 did not include the game either; Rockstar said at the time it was so buyers could pair it with whichever edition they wanted. What is new is the price. Wccftech's calculation is that the Vice City Collection "costs roughly four times as much" as the Red Dead 2 box.

Two details jump out. The New Era snapback is back, 13 years after the GTA V Collector's Edition shipped one. And there is a big-name brand item this time: real Oakleys, which may explain part of the jump, though Rockstar has not broken down the price.

Is it sold out?

In the UK, yes. TheGamer checked 24 hours after launch, on September 25, and found it still in stock on both the US and UK Rockstar Store, a sharp contrast with the album's liquid-filled vinyl, which sold out in minutes. But RockstarINTEL reported on September 26 that the collection had sold out in the UK after two days, and on September 29 it said the box had sold out "in the UK and other regions." The store will not show us US stock from where we are, so we cannot confirm the US listing either way.

Rockstar still describes the box as limited: the FAQ says it is "currently only available in limited quantities," and suggests wishlisting it and subscribing to Rockstar's marketing emails if it goes out of stock. The one-per-person rule and the log-in requirement are there to slow down resellers. Where it is still listed, do not assume it will stay that way.

Who is Macca the Gator?

The whole collection is built around a character players have not met yet. Rockstar calls Macca the Gator "Leonida's hit TV show," which makes him an in-universe cartoon, the way GTA V had Princess Robot Bubblegum and Republican Space Rangers. His sidekicks on the poster and pins are Chunkee the Manatee, a flamingo with hearts in its eyes and a sun wearing shades, and the art is full of Vice City in-jokes: a seaplane dropping wrapped bales over the skyline, a purple lowrider, a lifeguard tower.

The name of the collection is a lore detail as well. "The Goodtime State" is Leonida's nickname, and it is already in the game: it is printed on Leonida license plates in the Extended Look, the same way Florida plates say "Sunshine State." More GTA 6 merch is coming

The Newswire post ends with a promise: "look out for the arrival of more apparel and collectibles from the Grand Theft Auto VI Collection at the Rockstar Store soon." Should you buy it?

If you want a GTA 6 object on your shelf, this is the only official one Rockstar is selling. The Oakleys and the New Era cap are genuine branded products you would pay for anyway, the Leonida map poster is the one item with real value for fans of the game, and the whole thing ships on launch day in a box designed to be displayed.

If you were hoping for a traditional collector's edition with the game, a SteelBook and in-game extras, this is not it, and $399.99 is a lot for merch alone. Our advice: buy the game edition you want first, then decide whether Macca is worth another $400. It has already sold out in the UK, so if it is still listed where you live and you want one, do not leave it until launch week.
