Will GTA 6 Have Disney World? Rockstar Says Leonida Won't Copy Every Florida Landmark
Game Informer asked Rockstar whether Disney World, Universal, SeaWorld and the Space Coast are in GTA 6. Rockstar's environment art chief says Leonida may not have 'those exact locations,' and explains what it built instead, after research trips that included night ride-alongs with ex-cops, strip clubs, the Everglades and the Keys.

If you were hoping to rob a parody of the Magic Kingdom, lower your expectations. In Game Informer's GTA 6 cover story, Rockstar was asked directly about Florida's biggest tourist draws, the central Florida theme parks like Disney World, Universal and SeaWorld, and the Space Coast around Cape Canaveral. The answer, from the studio's head of environment art, is that Leonida is built to capture Florida, not to copy every landmark in it.
It is not a flat "no." But it is the clearest signal yet that GTA 6's Florida has no Orlando-style theme park district, and Rockstar explained what it focused on instead.
What Rockstar said about Disney World
Game Informer put the question to Paul MacPherson, Rockstar's senior vice president of environment art, who oversees the art of the world itself. His answer, as quoted by IGN and Dexerto:
“"We have to constantly evaluate the diversity of landscapes, towns, structures, landmarks, vistas, plant species, rock formations and everything else before we work with design and narrative to distill a list down that best works with and serves the game's needs. So, while we may not have those exact locations, everything we have is geared to getting that full Florida experience!"”
Read it closely and it says three things. Rockstar starts from a huge list of real places; design and story decide which make the cut; and the specific attractions Game Informer named are not promised. "Those exact locations" leaves room for a theme park of some kind, but nothing in the reporting so far describes one, and Rockstar did not take the opening to tease one.
GTA BOOM's rundown of the story adds that the question covered the Space Coast too, home to Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center, and got the same answer. So if you were planning a rocket launch heist, that is not confirmed either.
Why GTA 6 probably skips the theme parks
GTA has always parodied rather than recreated. Los Santos had Vinewood, not Hollywood; Leonida has Vice City, not Miami. A full theme park parody is a very different job from a parody storefront, though: it is a whole district of rides, queues and shows that has to be fun to visit more than once.
That is the point IGN made: GTA 5's Del Perro Pier had a rollercoaster and a Ferris wheel, and there was little reason to ride them twice. GTA 4's Funland on Firefly Island, its take on Coney Island, was atmosphere more than activity. Building an entire Orlando-scale park for a game about crime would be a lot of world for very little play, which is exactly the trade-off MacPherson describes.
What Leonida has instead
Here is what Rockstar has confirmed about the Florida it did build:
- Six regions: Vice City, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga National Park.
- A full-size state: the map is around twice the size of GTA 5's, per Rockstar North's Aaron Garbut, with swamps, beaches, industrial areas, northern countryside and, per GTA BOOM's reading of the story, abandoned tourist attractions, which is about as Florida as it gets.
- Things to do that tourists do: a zoo, mini golf, scuba diving, kayaking, jet skis, airboats and base jumping, plus golf, bass fishing, ATV trails and mud parks in the countryside.
- A Ferris wheel on the Vice City waterfront, visible in Rockstar's own screenshots next to the Sahara Arena, the game's version of the Kaseya Center.

The north is where Leonida goes beyond the postcard Florida. GTA BOOM reports that Mount Kalaga sits on the Leonida-Gloriana boundary, the game's version of the Florida-Georgia line, and that MacPherson's team researched Panama City, Jacksonville, Ocala and smaller rural towns, with lumber operations, communities built around private airstrips and struggling west coast towns shaping that part of the map. That is the Florida most tourists never see, and it is the Florida GTA 6 seems most interested in.
How Rockstar researched Florida
The other half of the answer is how Rockstar got its Florida. Rupert Humphries, Rockstar's senior vice president of narrative, described the research trips to Game Informer, as quoted by Dork:
“"We go and try to experience everything… from riding around areas at night with ex-cops, to going to strip clubs and nightclubs, spending time on the beach, in the Everglades, down in the Keys, and beyond."”
Ex-cops, strip clubs and the Everglades, rather than the castle and the parade. It fits everything Rockstar has shown so far: Vice City's nightlife, Grassrivers' airboat crowd, the Keys' smugglers and Port Gellhorn's run-down motels. Game Informer's own summary of the story says Rockstar went a long way "to recreate the state of Florida as accurately as possible, both ecologically and culturally," and the ecology part is literal: Leonida has more than 170 animal species, including invasive ones like green iguanas, cane toads and rhesus macaques. Our GTA 6 animals guide has the list.

How real is Leonida?
Real enough to point at. Vice City maps onto Miami, from the arena and the Bayside-style waterfront to Ocean Drive's Art Deco strip; Grassrivers is the Everglades; the Leonida Keys are the Florida Keys; Port Gellhorn and Ambrosia stand in for the state's rougher coastal and industrial towns. Our guides go region by region: Vice City versus real Miami, the Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Mount Kalaga and every real Florida inspiration we have spotted.
What is missing is Orlando. Central Florida's theme park corridor is one of the most-visited places in America, and it is the one part of the state Rockstar has now said, politely, it did not prioritise.
FAQ
Is Disney World in GTA 6?
Rockstar has not confirmed a Disney World parody. Asked about Disney World, SeaWorld and Universal, Rockstar's Paul MacPherson said "we may not have those exact locations" and that Leonida is built for "that full Florida experience" instead.
Is there a theme park in GTA 6?
None has been announced. Rockstar has confirmed a zoo, mini golf and abandoned tourist attractions, and its screenshots show a Ferris wheel on the Vice City waterfront.
Is the Kennedy Space Center in GTA 6?
Not confirmed. Game Informer asked about the Space Coast in the same question, and Rockstar gave the same "not those exact locations" answer.
What real places did Rockstar research for GTA 6?
Rockstar says its teams rode around at night with ex-cops, visited strip clubs and nightclubs, and spent time on the beach, in the Everglades and in the Keys. For north Leonida, the environment team researched Panama City, Jacksonville, Ocala and smaller rural towns.
