GTA 6 Preorder Guide: Prices, Editions and Where to Buy

The short answer on GTA 6 preorders: they have been open since June 25, 2026, at $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the digital-only Ultimate Edition, through the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and select retailers. Here is what is confirmed, what each edition includes, and where to preorder GTA 6 safely.

Are GTA 6 preorders open?

Yes. You can preorder GTA 6 on the PlayStation Store, the Xbox Store and at select retailers, and have been able to since June 25, 2026. Anything selling GTA 6 outside those official channels is not a legitimate preorder.

Confirmed by Rockstar Games and Take-Two:

• Release date: November 19, 2026 (announced on the official Rockstar Newswire).
• Platforms: PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. No PC version has been announced, and no PS4 or Xbox One version either.
• Price: $79.99 Standard, $99.99 Ultimate, revealed on June 24, 2026, the day before preorders opened.
• Pre-load: November 12, 2026 for digital preorders. Rockstar gave a date, not a clock time.
• No early access. Every edition unlocks on November 19, as Take-Two confirmed on its August 7 earnings call.

When did GTA 6 pre orders open?

Preorders opened on June 25, 2026, announced by Rockstar on the Newswire on June 18 alongside the official cover art, with prices and editions revealed on June 24. That landed inside the summer window Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had pointed to on the May 21 earnings call, but the date itself came from Rockstar. The May rumor that Best Buy preorders were about to go live was wrong; Zelnick said he had no idea where it came from, and nothing opened until Rockstar said so.

Treat any preorder link that does not trace back to Rockstar's June 18 Newswire post or an official storefront as a fake.

The editions and the preorder bonus

• Standard Edition, $79.99. The full game. This is the only edition sold in a box, and the box holds a download code, not a disc. See our no-disc explainer.

• Vintage Vice City Pack, with every preorder and every digital purchase made before November 20, 2026, on either edition (physical preorders while stocks last): a classic '55 Vapid Stanier, the Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach, retro outfits and hairstyles for both leads, and a weapon pattern.
• A free month of GTA+ for digital preorders, per the Take-Two press release. Rockstar has not said whether the retail code-in-a-box qualifies.

Rockstar's preorder materials describe GTA VI as a "single-player experience". No online mode has been announced for launch.

Where to preorder GTA 6

Official preorders are live at the first-party and verified retail channels every major console release uses:

• PlayStation Store (digital, PS5)
• Microsoft / Xbox Store (digital, Xbox Series X|S)

How to avoid fake GTA 6 preorder pages

Fraudulent listings multiplied the moment real preorders opened. Protect yourself:

• Do not pay for "early access," "guaranteed beta keys," or discounted CD-key listings. Rockstar has not announced any of those, and Take-Two has ruled out early access outright.
• Ignore countdown sites and third-party pages asking for card details that do not trace back to Rockstar's official storefront links.
• The price is official. GTA 6 is $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. Anyone quoting a different figure, or offering a discount code, is not selling the real thing.
• Buy only from the PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, or a retailer you already trust.
