GTA Online Agency and Security Contracts Guide
A GTA Online Agency guide covering security contracts, payphone hits, and the Dr. Dre VIP contract finale, with verified payouts and the best way to earn per hour.

The GTA Online Agency is the property at the heart of The Contract update, and it unlocks three reliable money loops: security contracts, payphone hits, and the Dr. Dre VIP contract finale. Released on December 15, 2021, The Contract puts you in business with Franklin Clinton, hacker Imani, Lamar Davis, and Chop the dog. This guide walks through buying the Agency and the realistic payout per hour for each activity.
Buying the Agency in GTA Online
You purchase an Agency through the Dynasty 8 Executive website on your in-game phone. There are four locations, each with a different price:
- Little Seoul is the cheapest at $2,010,000
- Vespucci Canals and Rockford Hills sit in the middle
- Hawick is the most expensive at $2,830,000
All four function identically, so for most players the only real difference is map position and price. Optional upgrades include accommodation ($275,000), an armory ($720,000), and a vehicle workshop ($800,000), among others. None of the upgrades are required to start earning, but the vehicle workshop is popular for storing and modifying weaponized cars. Once you own an Agency, the new contracts appear on the SecuroServ-style computer inside.
Security Contracts and How They Pay
Security contracts are the bread-and-butter work of the Agency, accepted from the computer in your office. There are three recurring types:
- Asset Protection: defend a client's business for roughly ten minutes
- Gang Termination: hit a rival gang and kill several high-ranking members
- Liquidize Assets: plant explosives and destroy a rival operation
Each contract pays a solid base reward, and the work scales in difficulty. Beyond the cash, every completed security contract permanently adds $100 per day to your Agency safe, the wall safe inside the office. That passive income caps at $20,000 per day, which requires completing 201 contracts in total. The safe itself stores up to $250,000, so empty it regularly or income stops accruing. Security contracts are short, repeatable, and the fastest way to build that daily passive trickle while learning the Agency's layout.
Payphone Hits Explained
Payphone hits are GTA Online's spiritual successor to the insider-trading assassinations Lester gave you in the GTA V story. They unlock after you complete your third security contract, at which point Franklin calls to bring you into the assassination side of the business. From then on you can call Franklin to request a hit, or answer a ringing payphone you stumble across in free mode.
Each payphone hit assigns one named target, and the payout structure is consistent:
- Base reward: $15,000 to the host
- Bonus reward: an extra $30,000 for eliminating the target using the specific method Franklin describes
- Associates earn $10,000 base, rising to $15,000 when the bonus method is met
That means a single solo payphone hit done correctly is worth $45,000 in just a few minutes. The bonus method changes per target (a particular weapon, a fall, an explosion, or a staged accident), so listen to Franklin's instructions before you act. Payphone hits run on a short cooldown, which makes them one of the best low-effort earners in the Agency catalog.
The Dr. Dre VIP Contract Finale
The Dr. Dre contract is the story centerpiece of the update. After enough Agency work, Franklin pulls you into recovering a stolen phone loaded with unreleased Dr. Dre music, with Dre voicing himself. The full contract runs across roughly a dozen missions: a preparation job, setups, three investigation strands, and a two-part finale.
The final mission, Don't Fuck With Dre, is where the big money lands. The host receives $1,000,000 on completion, while each associate receives $50,000. Finishing the contract also awards Dr. Dre's Media Stick, which adds exclusive Dr. Dre tracks you can play through your Agency and personal vehicles, plus a Marathon Hoodie. The VIP contract is a one-time story payout rather than a grind, but $1 million for the finale makes it one of the most rewarding single missions tied to the Agency.
Payout Per Hour Compared
Here is the realistic earning picture once your Agency is set up:
- Payphone hits: about $45,000 per hit (base plus bonus), completed in a few minutes each. With back-to-back hits and travel, this lands in the $300,000+ per hour range and is the strongest repeatable Agency earner.
- Security contracts: solid per-mission cash plus the $100/day passive bump each. Slightly lower hourly than payphone hits, but they build the $20,000/day safe income over time.
- Dr. Dre VIP contract: a $1,000,000 finale payout, but a long one-time run rather than an hourly grind.
For pure efficiency, alternate payphone hits with security contracts: the hits drive your hourly rate while the contracts quietly raise your passive safe income toward the cap.
