GTA Online Halloween Week 2: 3X on Slasher, GTA$500,000 for Five Payphone Hits, and the Catch in the GTA$2 Million Bonus (Oct 8–14, 2026)

GTA Online's Halloween event entered its second week at Thursday's reset, and it runs until the next one on October 14. The headline bonuses haven't changed since October 1, because Rockstar set them for the whole month: 3X GTA$ and RP on Slasher modes, Halloween Survivals and the Halloween race series, and 2X on Bail Office Targets, Dispatch Work, UFO Business Battles and Jack O'Lanterns. What changes this week is the Weekly Challenge (win two Adversary modes), the free T-shirt, and a GTA$500,000 bonus for five Payphone Hits that lines up with 40% off every Agency.

There is also one detail most weekly roundups skip: the GTA$2,000,000 bonus at the end of the month is for completing all of October's Weekly Challenges, and the first one closed at this week's reset.

The short version

If you have one evening this week, do these in order:

1. Win once in Slasher and once in Ramius – Slasher. That clears the Weekly Challenge (Pink Skull Emissive Mask and GTA$100,000), and both modes pay 3X GTA$ and RP while you do it.
2. Run five Payphone Hits for the GTA$500,000 bonus. You need an Agency, and every Agency is 40% off this week.
3. Log in at least once to collect the Twilight Knife T-Shirt before October 14.
4. Photograph ghosts after dark. Ghosts Exposed pays 2X GTA$ this week, and all 10 earn the Ghosts Exposed Jacket.

The GTA$2,000,000 catch

Rockstar's October schedule, published on October 1 and reprinted in full by Worthplaying, lists five Weekly Challenges and then this line: "Receive GTA$2,000,000 for completing all weekly challenges." The bonus is "delivered within 72 hours of completion."

Here is the full ladder:

All five weeks together are worth GTA$2,700,000. The catch is week one. The Bail Office challenge ended at Thursday's reset, and Rockstar's wording is "all weekly challenges," not "four of five." If you didn't secure two Bail Office Bounties between October 1 and 7, assume the GTA$2,000,000 is gone. Rockstar has said nothing to suggest a catch-up window. The weekly GTA$100,000 to GTA$250,000 rewards and the clothing are still yours for each week you complete.

If you did finish week one, this week's challenge is the easiest of the remaining four. The last one (10 Survival waves without dying) is the one to plan for.

This week's challenge: win two Adversary modes

Slasher is an Adversary Mode, per GTA Wiki ("Slasher is an Adversary Mode featured in Grand Theft Auto Online as part of the Halloween Surprise update"), and it is this week's 3X Featured Series. That makes it the obvious place to clear the challenge.

The rules, in Rockstar's description: "a shotgun-wielding predator stalks their adversaries who are equipped only with flashlights. If they can survive for three minutes, the tables are turned." GTA Wiki's version: one Slasher against up to seven Hunted, and after three minutes the Hunted get shotguns too. A lobby takes two to eight players, and the mode is unlocked from Rank 1.

Rockstar's wording is "win in two Adversary modes," which can be read as two wins in any Adversary Mode or as wins in two different modes. The safe route covers both readings: win one round of Slasher and one of Ramius – Slasher, the submarine version Rockstar calls "the latest twist on this fan-favorite Halloween mode." Both pay 3X, so the challenge costs you nothing extra.

A few things that help:

• As the Hunted, survive first and fight second. For the first three minutes you only have a flashlight, so stay out of the Slasher's way. Once the shotguns arrive, the round turns, and killing the Slasher wins it for your team.
• As the Slasher, push early. You have three minutes before the Hunted are armed, and after that you are outnumbered.
• Play several rounds. Winning depends on your team as much as on you, so queue for a few rounds.

The challenge tracker is in the pause menu. The mask and the GTA$100,000 come with the usual delay, but the completion is what counts toward the October total.

GTA$500,000 for five Payphone Hits, and Agencies are 40% off

This is the biggest single payout of the week. It isn't in Rockstar's October 1 schedule, but every weekly roundup we checked lists it (GTABase, RockstarINTEL, Power Up Gaming and GTASeries): complete five Payphone Hits by October 14 and receive GTA$500,000 within 72 hours of completion. The same roundups list 40% off Agency properties. Check the in-game alert to confirm both before you spend money.

If you already own an Agency: call Franklin to request a hit, or answer a ringing payphone in free mode. Each hit pays GTA$15,000, plus GTA$30,000 more if you use Franklin's assassination method, per GTA Wiki and our Agency guide. Five hits done the bonus way come to GTA$225,000, which makes GTA$725,000 with the weekly bonus.

The timing detail: GTA Wiki says "after completing a hit, there is a 10-minute cooldown before another hit can be requested," and most hits have a 15-minute time limit. Five hits mean at least 40 minutes of cooldown, so budget about an hour and a half. Fill the gaps with Security Contracts from your Agency computer. Two of the hit types only come up when you have at least one other player in your Organization or MC, so a solo player just gets the others.

If you don't own an Agency: this is the week to buy one. Our Agency guide lists the four locations from GTA$2,010,000 (Little Seoul) to GTA$2,830,000 (Hawick). At 40% off, that's roughly GTA$1,206,000 to GTA$1,698,000; check the exact price on Dynasty 8 Executive. Plan for this before you start: Payphone Hits unlock only after your third Security Contract, when Franklin calls to bring you in. Buy, run three Security Contracts, then start the hits. On the cheapest Agency, the GTA$500,000 bonus plus the hit payouts covers more than half the discounted price this week. The Agency then keeps earning: Payphone Hits, Security Contracts, the Dr. Dre VIP Contract and the passive safe income.

Every bonus this week

From Rockstar's October schedule. These are month-long Halloween bonuses: Rockstar says Bail Office Targets and Dispatch Work pay 2X "all October long" and gives November 4 as the end date for the Community Race Series.

• 2X GTA$ and RP on Standard and Most Wanted Bail Office Targets, and on Dispatch Work for Vincent Effenburger
• 2X GTA$ and RP on UFO Business Battles (extracting Spaceship Parts from Fort Zancudo) and on collecting Jack O'Lanterns
• 2X GTA$ on Ghosts Exposed (Rockstar gives no end date for this one)

Ghosts Exposed at 2X

Rockstar's teaser for this year: "spooky visions of deceased tech executives," including "a particular late billionaire investor whose body was never found." Photograph all 10 and you get the Ghosts Exposed Jacket.

GTA Wiki's record of the 2023 to 2025 events covers how it works. Each ghost appears in one area for a single in-game hour, between 19:00 and 06:00. You photograph it close up with Snapmatic on your phone, and it has to be visible in the frame. The ninth ghost unlocks the tenth. You can track your count under Inventory in the Interaction Menu, and both characters on an account can do the hunt.

In previous years each ghost paid GTA$20,000, with a GTA$50,000 bonus for the final one. Rockstar hasn't restated those amounts for 2026, so treat them as a guide and expect double this month. Don't use an old map: the ghosts were in Blaine County in 2023, Los Santos in 2024 and both in 2025.

The rest of Halloween in free roam

Rockstar lists the Clone Slasher and the Phantom Car ("a driverless Declasse Tornado Custom with a thirst for blood") as returning, along with Peyote Plants, which turn you into an animal when you eat one. Slashers roam Los Santos and Blaine County after dark. Rockstar says "there are rewards for those brave enough to battle the creatures of the night" but doesn't list them, and none of these carry a multiplier this week.

Podium, Prize Ride, Salvage Yard and discounts

These items rotate every Thursday and aren't in Rockstar's October 1 schedule. Where no source is named, GTABase, RockstarINTEL and Power Up Gaming all list the same thing:

GTA+ this week

Rockstar's October 1 notes confirm that from October 8, members can claim a free Pegassi Oppressor with the Skulls livery, "along with additional Halloween treats and more." The free Pegassi Horus ended on October 7. According to the weekly roundups, members also get 6X on Halloween Survivals, 4X on Jack O'Lanterns and Ghosts Exposed, the Gun Van discounts above and, per RockstarINTEL, two Lucky Wheel spins a day. Where the roundups disagree with Rockstar

• The challenge reward. RockstarINTEL lists GTA$1,000,000 for this week's Adversary challenge. Rockstar's schedule says GTA$100,000, and GTABase and Power Up Gaming agree with Rockstar.
• The T-shirt window. RockstarINTEL says to claim the Twilight Knife T-Shirt by October 7. Rockstar's schedule gives October 8–14, which matches GTABase and Power Up Gaming.

FAQ

I missed last week's Bail Office challenge. Can I still get the GTA$2,000,000? Rockstar's condition is "completing all weekly challenges," and the first one closed on October 7. Nothing in Rockstar's text suggests a catch-up, so plan on not getting it.

Does a Slasher win count toward the Adversary challenge? Slasher is an Adversary Mode, so it should. To cover both readings of "two Adversary modes," win once in Slasher and once in Ramius – Slasher.

Do I need GTA+ for any of the main rewards? No. The challenge, the T-shirt, the Payphone Hits bonus and the 3X and 2X bonuses are open to everyone. GTA+ adds the Oppressor and higher multipliers.

I just bought an Agency. Why can't I get a Payphone Hit? They unlock after your third Security Contract, when Franklin calls you.

When does the GTA$500,000 arrive? Within 72 hours of finishing the fifth hit, per the weekly roundups.
