GTA 6 Trailer 3 at Take-Two's Shareholder Meeting? What Actually Happens on September 17
Take-Two's annual shareholder meeting is September 17 at 9 AM ET, and parts of the GTA community are treating it as a GTA 6 trailer countdown. It is not. Here is what is on the agenda, why the date is fuelling the chatter, what could realistically be said, and where GTA 6 news actually comes from.

Take-Two Interactive holds its annual shareholder meeting on Thursday, September 17, at 9:00 AM ET (6:00 AM PT, 13:00 UTC). It is virtual, it is audio only, and its agenda is a proxy statement filed with the SEC back in July. None of that has stopped r/GTA6 threads and large gaming accounts on X from framing it as the moment GTA 6 Trailer 3 or the official soundtrack finally drops, especially after ten artists teased the soundtrack on September 15. Here is what the meeting actually is, so you can set your expectations and your alarm accordingly.
What is actually on the agenda
Take-Two's proxy statement (a DEF 14A filed with the SEC on July 27, 2026) lists the business of the 2026 Annual Meeting of Stockholders. It is standard corporate governance:
- Electing the board of directors.
- An advisory vote on executive compensation, the "say-on-pay" item.
- An amendment to the company's charter to allow officer exculpation under Delaware law, which limits personal liability for certain officers.
- Ratifying Ernst & Young as the company's independent auditor for the fiscal year.
There is no product presentation on the agenda. No trailer segment, no gameplay, no soundtrack reveal. The meeting runs through virtualshareholdermeeting.com/TTWO2026, which is the same webcast platform hundreds of public companies use for a routine vote, and it is audio rather than video. If Take-Two wanted to premiere a GTA 6 trailer, this is close to the last place it would choose to do it.
Why people think a trailer is coming anyway
The chatter is not coming from nowhere. Three things collided on the calendar.
The artist wave. Travis Scott, Future, Keith Richards, Morgan Wallen and six other artists posted coordinated GTA 6 artwork on September 15, two days before the meeting, and Scott's caption promised more with "Phase 1" and "to be continued". Fans connected the dots to the next dated Take-Two event.
Tokyo Game Show opens the same day. TGS 2026 runs September 17 to 21 at Makuhari Messe, and Sony's PlayStation booth has a dedicated "Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look" theater, showing the presentation on a 300-inch screen with a synchronized haptic floor. That sounds like a stage for something new. It is not: per PlayStation Japan's own booth announcement, it is the existing Extended Look, GTA 6 is not playable, and there is no Rockstar or Take-Two booth. Xbox's TGS showcase the same evening has no GTA 6 in its published lineup.
Trailer timing has been unpredictable. Trailer 2 arrived on May 6, 2025 with no warning, so any date with Take-Two's name on it gets treated as a candidate. Strauss Zelnick has said there will be more trailers before launch, which we covered in our piece on his "hors d'oeuvres" comment, but he has never tied one to a corporate event.

What could realistically happen
Annual meetings usually end with a short question-and-answer period, and Zelnick is the one who takes it. Shareholders can submit questions through the webcast platform, and someone will ask about GTA 6. The most you should expect is a restatement of what Take-Two has already said on its earnings calls: the game is on track for November 19, the company is pleased with pre-orders, and the marketing plan is Rockstar's to run. Any comment on the artist wave, PC, or trailer timing would be news, but it would be a sentence in a webcast, not a reveal.
Take-Two's next scheduled earnings call is for the second quarter of fiscal 2027, which the company typically reports in early November. That is the last investor event before launch and the more likely venue for anything substantive from Zelnick.
Where GTA 6 news actually comes from
Every major GTA 6 beat so far has come from Rockstar, not from a Take-Two corporate event. Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 were posted to Rockstar's own channels. The Extended Look went out through Netflix and Rockstar's YouTube. The November 19 date and the earlier delay were announced on the Rockstar Newswire, timed to earnings but published by Rockstar. Even the soundtrack tease came from the artists, with Rockstar tagged. The pattern is consistent: Take-Two talks about GTA 6 as a business, Rockstar shows it.
If you want to be first to a trailer, watch Rockstar's Newswire, its X account and its YouTube channel. Our Launch Desk tracks every official announcement the moment it lands.
The bottom line
Take-Two's September 17 shareholder meeting is a routine, audio-only governance vote with no product segment on the agenda. The trailer talk is a coincidence of timing, driven by the artist soundtrack wave two days earlier and Tokyo Game Show opening the same morning with a replay of the Extended Look. Expect, at most, a few reassuring sentences from Zelnick in the Q&A. The real GTA 6 marketing calendar belongs to Rockstar, and the game is nine weeks from its November 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
