Vice City Cheat Codes: PC, PlayStation, Xbox Canonical Guide
Every Grand Theft Auto: Vice City cheat that still works in 2026 — typed text codes on PC, button combos on PlayStation and Xbox. Plus PANZER, COMEFLYWITHME, and other classics.
Vice City shipped on PlayStation 2 in October 2002 with a built-in cheat system that's preserved in every re-release including the 2021 Definitive Edition. The PC version uses typed text codes; PS2/PS3 and the original Xbox port use button combos entered on the controller. Below: the canonical guide.
How Vice City cheats work
Cheats are entered during gameplay — no menu, no pause. PC players type the cheat letters directly. Console players enter button-combo sequences (typically 8-12 buttons). A successful entry shows "Cheat activated" in the corner.
Most cheats are toggleable. A few are one-shot (vehicle spawns). Some are permanent until save reload. Saving with cheats active can corrupt the save in some original PS2 builds — Rockstar fixed this in DE.
Health, armor, ammo
- ASPIRINE — full health
- PRECIOUSPROTECTION — full armor
- THUGSTOOLS — thug weapons set (basic loadout)
- PROFESSIONALTOOLS — professional weapons set (mid loadout)
- NUTTERTOOLS — nutter weapons (rocket launcher, minigun, chainsaw)
- ICANTTAKEITANYMORE — suicide (instant death)
The three-tier weapons cheats — THUGSTOOLS, PROFESSIONALTOOLS, NUTTERTOOLS — are the Vice City cheat trinity. Used together you can equip Tommy from peashooter to rocket launcher in three lines.
Vehicles and traffic
- PANZER — spawn a Rhino tank. The meme cheat code for Vice City.
- COMEFLYWITHME — cars fly when accelerating
- TRAVELINSTYLE — spawn Bloodring Banger (demolition derby car)
- MIAMITRAFFIC — aggressive traffic (NPCs drive faster, more dangerously)
- GREENLIGHT — all traffic lights green
- BIGBANG — explode all nearby cars
- FOXYLITTLETHING — female pedestrians carry weapons
- FIGHTFIGHTFIGHT — pedestrians attack each other
Weather
- APLEASANTDAY — clear weather
- CATSANDDOGS — heavy rain
- STAYINHOMEYOUFOOL — extreme storm
- CANTSEEATHING — fog

Console button combos
PS2 / Xbox button combos are different from the PC text codes. For example, PANZER on PS2 is CIRCLE, CIRCLE, L1, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, L1, L2, R1, TRIANGLE, CIRCLE, TRIANGLE. Xbox uses the same combo with PS-to-Xbox button mapping (X→A, ◯→B, ☐→X, △→Y, L1/L2→LB/LT, R1/R2→RB/RT).
Definitive Edition preserves the original combos one-for-one across all platforms.
What cheats break
Vice City cheats have specific consequences:
- 100% completion is invalidated if the save is exposed to certain cheats. The completion-percentage tracker checks for cheat exposure.
- Active cheats lock several missions — the game won't start specific story missions while certain cheats are active.
- Save corruption in the original PS2 build was a real risk for some cheat combinations. Patched in DE.
- Achievements / trophies in DE disable when cheats are active.
What's not in Vice City
A few cheats people search for don't exist in VC:
- No "Bigfoot" cheat — Bigfoot is a (false) San Andreas myth, not a Vice City thing.
- No jetpack — the jetpack debuts in San Andreas (2004); Vice City has no jetpack cheat or in-game item.
- No phone cheats — phone-based cheats are a GTA IV (2008) innovation.
Definitive Edition compatibility
The 2021 DE preserves all original Vice City cheat codes one-for-one — PC text input, console button combos, activation behavior. The DE also adds achievement / trophy support, which the original PS2 release had none of.
