GTA 6 Is 51 Days Away: Every Confirmed Date Left Before Launch, and Everything Rockstar Has Dropped Since the Extended Look
GTA 6 launches November 19, 51 days from today. Here is every confirmed date between now and then, from Game Informer's cover story and the November 12 preload to the November 20 pre-order bonus cutoff and The Game Awards on December 10, plus a week-by-week record of everything Rockstar and its partners have released since the Extended Look drew 31.1 million Netflix views.

Grand Theft Auto VI launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026, on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. As of today, September 29, that is 51 days away, and the calendar between here and there is filling up fast: a magazine cover story, a preload date, a pre-order bonus cutoff, controllers, an album, a $400 collector's box and an awards show that GTA 6 may only just qualify for.
We pulled every date from its primary source, Rockstar's Newswire, the PlayStation Blog, Take-Two's investor site and the official album store, so you can see what is locked in, what is expected, and what is still a blank. Below that is a week-by-week record of everything that has happened since the Extended Look, because the last five weeks have moved faster than the previous five months.

Here is what each of those means in practice.
September 29: the Game Informer cover story
Game Informer's Issue 382 is a 14-page GTA 6 cover story by senior associate editor Marcus Stewart, with interviews with "several lead designers at Rockstar Games" and 12 new screenshots. Game Informer says it covers GTA 6's "advanced weather systems that simulate Florida's less sunny weather phenomena," the "staggering amount of wildlife – native and otherwise – roaming Leonida on land, air, and sea," and how Rockstar researched Miami and Florida. The digital issue is out today; the print edition follows "in the coming weeks." We are tracking every new detail in our Game Informer cover story breakdown.

October 15: Vice City comes to Miami Beach
On September 10, the Miami Beach City Commission voted 4-3 to let its city manager negotiate a deal with Rockstar's marketing agency to put GTA 6 branding on the city's beach chairs and umbrellas, with the campaign "commencing October 15, 2026." Commissioners described it running to the end of the year. We have not seen a report that the contract was signed, so treat the date as planned rather than certain. The county's own deal, the "Welcome to Vice City" letters on the Kaseya Center roof, went up by helicopter on September 22.
Early November: Take-Two's last earnings call before launch
Take-Two has not announced the date of its fiscal second-quarter results yet. Its investor site shows last year's equivalent call on November 6, 2025, so early November is the likely window. It will be the final scheduled chance for Take-Two to talk about GTA 6 before launch.
November 12: preload day
This is Rockstar's own wording from the pre-order announcement: "Players who pre-order digital versions of Grand Theft Auto VI will be able to begin pre-loading on November 12 to ensure they are able to play at launch on November 19." The same post confirms the boxed version is a download code, not a disc: "The physical version of Grand Theft Auto VI, containing a download code inside the box, will be available starting November 12 to support pre-loading."
Two things are still missing: a clock time for the preload, and an install size. Our preload and file size guide separates what is confirmed from the numbers going around.
November 19: launch day, and four things arrive at once
- GTA 6 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Rockstar's pre-order post also describes it plainly: "Grand Theft Auto VI is a single player experience." Nothing official has been said about when an online mode follows; Twitch's CEO said "next year" after talking to Rockstar, which is a report, not an announcement.
- Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, 34 original tracks with Atlantic Records. The running order is already public.
- The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection, Rockstar's $399.99 collector's box, starts shipping. The game is not in it.
- Two limited-edition GTA 6 DualSense controllers, black and white, $84.99 each (€84.99, £74.99). More on those below.
November 19 is also the pre-order bonus deadline
Rockstar's wording: "All Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders and purchases before November 20 will get the Vintage Vice City Pack." So a purchase on launch day still counts; a purchase on November 20 does not. The Vintage Vice City Pack includes the '55 Vapid Stanier, which is one of the four cars Rockstar has named, as covered in our GTA 6 cars list.
December 10: The Game Awards, and a very tight window
The Game Awards returns on Thursday, December 10, at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The show has not published its 2026 eligibility window yet. In 2025 the cutoff was November 21, the third Friday of November, with jury nomination votes due on November 4 and nominations announced on November 17. If 2026 follows the same pattern, the cutoff lands on November 20, one day after GTA 6 launches, so the game should be eligible. The catch, as OpenCritic and Screen Rant have both pointed out, is that jurors vote on nominations weeks before the cutoff, so GTA 6's chances depend on reviewers getting code early.
The GTA 6 DualSense controllers
Sony revealed them at its September 3 State of Play: a Black Limited Edition, which "captures the energy of Vice City's iconic nightlife," and a White Limited Edition, which "embodies Vice City at daybreak." Both have a colour-shifting finish in sunset and neon tones, palm tree details moulded into the controller and GTA VI branding.

- Price: $84.99 / €84.99 / £74.99 / ¥12,480.
- Launch: from November 19; pre-orders opened September 10.
- Where: the White edition is sold globally through PlayStation Direct and retailers. The Black edition is exclusive to direct.playstation.com where it operates (the US, UK, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Austria) and goes through select retailers elsewhere.
- Launch-day delivery: PlayStation Direct offers "free launch day delivery for eligible pre-orders."
Neither Sony nor Microsoft has announced an official GTA 6 console bundle. The only GTA 6 hardware Sony has announced is these two controllers.
What is still unannounced
Plenty. As of today, Rockstar has not announced or published:
- A launch trailer. The Extended Look on August 27 is the last new gameplay footage Rockstar has released. There has been no Trailer 3 and no date for one.
- The age rating. Rockstar's own site still shows the ESRB "Rating Pending" badge as of September 29, although Australia has already classified the game MA 15+.
- Unlock times. Rockstar has given a date, not a time, and the game is not expected to unlock at your local midnight everywhere.
- The install size. No official figure on any store listing.
- A PC version. Still console only. Our PC explainer covers the history.
- Review timing. No embargo date is public.
Everything since the Extended Look, week by week

What the pattern says about the next seven weeks
Since August 27 there has been at least one official GTA 6 release every week, and Rockstar has spread them across its own channels, Sony, Spotify, Atlantic Records, Game Informer and even city governments. What has not happened since the Extended Look is a new Rockstar video. With seven weeks left, the obvious remaining pieces are a launch trailer, the age rating, review coverage and the preload itself.
We would not bet on specific dates for any of those, and we would ignore any countdown account that claims to know them. Rockstar's GTA 6 announcements this year have landed on its own Newswire and X account first. This page will be updated as each date is confirmed.
